The Man Who Cried – Part 2

So, some of you said you’d be interested in knowing the final selling price of the various lots of Johnny-worn clothing in the Bonhams Entertainment and Memorabilia auction.

Here are the results:

The replica breastplate did not sell.   Interested parties could try ringing Bonhams and making an offer – sometimes it works.  Bear in mind that the estimate was £400-£500

The short military style jacket sold for £576

The full outfit sold for £900 – now that’s a lot of money for an outfit to shovel horse-shit in!

Oh, and SJ Anne?   Steve McQueen’s sunglasses didn’t go, either.   Mortgage your house and make that call!  The estimate was only £15,000 to £17,000.  Hmm.  That makes poor Johnny Depp look quite cheap.

£17,000 for a set of second hand shades? Sheesh! (Shaking my head in bewildermewnt.)

Are those sunglasses made out of kryptonite or something? That’s just ridiculous. And not even worn by Johnny Depp…

My god, it’s amazing what people will pay for this sort of stuff. I can understand it if you’re a museum or something but just to hang in the wardrobe and say “I’ve got a piece of Johnny Depp” astounding.

I was going to bid £500 on the breastplate but I decided to hold out until they put his boxer briefs up for auction. ;)

Shrinky – I know!! It’s one heck of a lot of money for second hand plastic, isn’t it?

Mara – ‘Not even worn by Johnny Depp’ – exactly! Who do they think they’re kidding? LOL!

Baino – Well, now … Hmmm … let me see. To have a piece of Johnny Depp hanging in your wardrobe. Mmm. Yep, that would be very nice indeed! Of course, I’d rather have the whole thing. ;)

Sandy – In a couple more years, what? You’re thinking the value will increase? Good point! They’re all investments.

Parlancheq – His boxers? Now that would fetch in a fair bit of cash, I would imagine! But the question is, does he wear them? ROFL!

SJ Anne – Glad to be of service. ;)

And I’m also very happy to have made you laugh! LOL!

Sistertex – That is, indeed, a lot of cash for a pair of shades. Quite mind-boggling.

So sorry to hear your sad news, my dear. :(

Love auctions, Jay, but go with the intent of spending so much on an item, and if I’m overbid, “take it with pleasure”! Am always amazed at what people are willing to spend!

LOL at your not voting! Believe me, Jay, I would list him every week, but let’s give the others a chance! ;)

Aw crap… you mean we COULD have purchased the breastplate???

I’d better make an eBay alert. It could end up there at a quite reasonable Buy It Now price.

    Or not.
