Aaah … you knew I’d have to do it! Couldn’t resist, mate!
Johnny Depp won two awards last night! He won Best Comedic Performance for Captain Jack Sparrow, and he won Best Villain for Sweeney Todd.
And he looked gorgeous (no surprise there) and about twenty years old (no surprise there, either) and he has a new tattoo on the inside of his left forearm which says ‘Silence, Exile, Cunning’. It’s a quote from ‘A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man’ by James Joyce, and embodies a philosophy of non-compromise and honesty in his approach to life, and his artistic integrity.

Jay, I came by to say thanks for stopping by my place and have just spent a few minutes going over previous works of yours…by the way I love the swan photo…such a beautifully dangerous bird! I enjoyed the MTV award commentary more than I enjoyed the show…my boys grew up in England and when we were transferred back Stateside they were devastated…no more Top Ten Music shows or videos on ITV or BBC2…MTV was created just for them according to The Newspaper Editor (older son…see Progressive Journal in my sidebar) Anyway, I’m enjoying visiting with you, you have a great blog site here

I didn’t hear the commentary – I’m gonna have to look to see if the programme is repeated on MTV sometime to catch up with that!
I’m out of touch with TV, but yeah for Johnny if you’re happy, I’m happy. Haven’t seen many of his movies, I know that’s blasphemy. lol

ahh, well done again to the Deppster. It’s not right that he keeps looking young while I get more whithered by the day though. He’ll be more suited to the next Harry Potter movie than Daniel Radcliffe at this rate.

Johnny was adorable Sunday night. I swooned when I saw him. So happy he won for best comedic role AND best villain ’cause I love my Johnny funny and I love my Johnny baaaaad.

Jen – it depends on what you like in a movie! If you like musicals with … um … sharp edges, then you’ll love it. If you don’t like musicals AND you’re not a Depp fan, then you might not. It’s very black, but there’s a lot of humour and it has a great deal of charm. It’s Tim Burton, after all!
