I know, I know. I missed June.
My poor Princess was languishing in a concrete cell with her Pirate and could not find it within herself to pose prettily - I can’t think why!
Still, here she is, back at home with us, and apparently feeling relaxed and playful again.
It’s a dog’s life, I tell ya.
I love it.
Smokey does that too when he’s really relaxed. His legs aren’t as long though.

DBM - It’s entirely possible that she’s related to Bertie, but quite a lot of greyhounds do the dead cockroach thing. We actually call it ‘roaching’!
Kathy - We’ve had cats that do it, too! But until we had greyhounds, I’d never seen a big dog do it, only small ones like JRTs!

Hi Kate - and welcome! The Princess doesn’t get the raspberries, but she loooves to be snuggled with. She likes to be hugged, and kissed on the head, just exactly how dogs don’t usually like to be treated! I’ve heard of people being bitten by recently retired greys who don’t understand the human ‘hug and kiss’ thing (usually American crate-raised dogs), but some do learn to love it, don’t they? She’s actually a PAT therapy dog and just adores to be touched, anywhere, anyhow, any time.

Our puppy sleeps like that all the time, it cracks me up! I have no idea how that’s comfortable, I can’t imagine sleeping with my legs in the air like that :).

JT - But I bet you sleep on your back sometimes! LOL! Greyhounds have to prop themselves, cos they’re so narrow, but they do it anyway, so I’m guessing it must be comfy .. and in hot weather, maybe it cools them? Their bellies are often bare.
