Photo Friday – Spontaneous!
Posted on September 26, 2008 in Hounds by Jay27 Comments »

Just catching up on my blog rounds and I noticed that Maria’s Space has a Friday photo challenge, with the subject ‘spontaneous’.  It reminded me of this photo of my two dogs, The Princess and The Pirate, having a spontaneous roo-fest!

PictureTwo

This happened shortly after we got The Pirate and he was playing with that squeaky hamburger toy.  Each time it squeaked, he grumbled at it, until he was barking, then rooing.  Then, of course, The Princess joined in, with a definite air of ‘I have no idea why I’m doing this, but … ‘

Now, I have to confess something.

The two dogs were on separate beds at the time.  Next to each other, for sure, but on separate beds.  I Photoshopped them together, to make a better picture.

Tee hee.

Haha!! This photo is hilarious. Good job with the Photoshopping, I would never have known! Wouldn’t you love to know what they’re singing? ;-)

Angi – Yes I would. I don’t think it was ‘Happy Birthday to Roo’ though. LOL!

Thanks – it took me a while to get it to look right. :)

I adore this photo. You did do a terrific job with the photo shopping.

Oh my! Oh my! LOL! Earlier today, I threw 1 of our cats outside because he was making messes, and Snuggles (our big dog) penned him inside the little doghouse, and started barking. Of course the other 2 had to join in, and next thing I knew, they had a howling contest going on. While the cat was hissing and spitting inside the house. I was busy laughing at them, I didn’t think to take a picture, but it would’ve been a perfect match for yours.
Ad so very pleased to meet a fellow photoshopper! And you try to say you don’t know much about computers!

I’ll be waiting this fine canine duo’s first CD release. Maybe you can train them to howl to Jingle Bells for a kitschy Christmas sound?

Ruth – Thanks! I love it too – it might not be totally authentic, but it’s perfectly correct in spirit. They are cute, they do occasionally sing together, and they have been known to share a bed. Not that close, admittedly, but … well, there you go. Good old Photoshop, eh? :)

JT – Now, what is the first rule of blogging? Yep, have your camera at the ready at all times!! What were you thinking? LOL!

    I wish I’d seen that!

BTW, skill in Photoshop is not the same as knowing about computers and you know it!

EWB – I’ll have to see if I can get The Pirate to sing for us and get him up on YouTube. If I can, I’ll put in a short post here with the link. He doesn’t do tunes, as such, but he’s a pretty good singer for a dog!

Somnambulist – Thanks! They’re a constant source of amusement, I can tell you! And so is Photoshop. ;)

Oh Jay, this photo is priceless, so funny! If you hadn’t fessed up to a photoshop tweak, we would have been none the wiser – you are quite the master on that front.

Jake took to singing when my eldest daughter briefly took up the violin. He sure sounded better then the instument ever did. (Grin)

How brilliant! And superb editing my friend! Have a good time today – tried to email but it bounced – maybe catch you next time?

Oh, you did a great job with the Photoshopping! You know how I love dog posts. I can just hear them rooing!

    :-)

    Peace – D

Shrinky – Your poor daughter! LOL! Was Jake joining in, or protesting?

Thanks for the kind words. I have been practising my Photoshop skills for some years, but I’m still a long way behind my older son!

Kate – Thanks – I’m so sorry your email bounced! I’ve left an alternative email in your comments, you could try that one!

Did you go today? I looked out for all the dogs that looked like Hippie!

River Poet – Thank you! They’re really quite musical when they roo. The Princess doesn’t do it very often, so to get them both singing together was quite enchanting!

Petra – Shame on you for nearly missing Johnny! LOL!

I hope you have a great weekend too!

Maria – I’ll certainly check in next Friday to see if I have anything to contribute! Thanks!

    Scratch – Thanks! :)

It’s feast or famine here, it seems. :) ) Thanks for helping make GODIVAS as fun as it was writing it. Always happy to have put a smile on the reader’s face. Again, hope you and your family are having a wonderful weekend, Jay!

Absolute classic, photoshopped or not! My dog doesn’t roo or howl . . we used to have a dog that howled when my mother played the piano and really she wasn’t that bad!

Baino – Funny how dogs do that with music, isn’t it? I think it sometimes just hits the right note, as it were. Or maybe the wrong one! LOL!

Jeannine – Thanks – well, they have been known to, but normall they do prefer to spread themselves out on their own!

Oh Jay! I nearly missed this one ;O)

What a great photograph! I wouldn’t have noticed the join until you said. Having a keen eye for Photoshopped pics I managed to find it – only for the slight lack of shadow though ;O) You did a great job there!

Katharine – Thanks! I don’t know Mr Bojangles ‘Sing the Rugged Cross’ – do you have a link? :)

Babs – Yeah, it’s the lack of shadown under The Princess that gives it away, isn’t it? I might have to fix that when I have time! Thanks for the kind words, though!

Meleah – Thank you! For some reason all your comments got caught in the spam filter this time. No worries, I fished ‘em out! ;)

What a great pic – Taffy won’t roo but I can get William going with the Singing Greyhound on you-tube or with bagpipes playing. He is so funny to watch as his tail spins in a circle whilst he is rooing ;)

  27. on 30 Sep 2008 at 10:20 pm27Jay

Jenn – Think they’ll be in with a chance? They’d be willing to work for liver treats! ;)

Taffy’s Mum – Thanks! Renie won’t usually roo, it’s most unusual!

I’d love to see a clip of William rooing with the helicopter tail! Jack takes his rooing very seriously, his tail hangs straight down as his nose points to the ceiling! LOL!

Bagpipes .. I’ll have to try that!
