The Funny Side of the Street
Posted on August 26, 2011 in Life, the Universe and Everything, Oddities by Jay13 Comments »

Well, alright, just the thought of putting tiny little slipper socks on a dog is enough to make the average cat laugh, isn’t it?  But there are those of us who actually need to do this if their dog isn’t to fall flat on his face with horrible regularity.  Sid, as most of you know, has only three legs and can’t do slippery floors without grippy bootees on his smacking great macho paws.

Anyway – the really funny part about that pack of dog slippers up there is this:

Hmm.

I don’t know about you, but it would never have occurred to me to use a tiny wee knitted bootee as a restraint, but if I ever should attempt it, it might be a difficult.  The average greyhound has a little more than the width of two fingers between his neck and his ankles.

And .. well, it’s a horrible thought, but I’ll leave the possible size of the fingers to your fertile imaginations.

“…. just the thought of putting tiny little slipper socks on a dog is enough to make the average cat laugh, isn’t it?”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG, that made me HOWL, Jay! And being someone who has had cats, you’re absolutely right!

“I don’t know about you, but it would never have occurred to me to use a tiny wee knitted bootee as a restraint…”

    Me neither.

Don’t ya just LOVE the warnings that come on certain items? Like those mildew packettes inside shoe boxes that say, “Don’t eat. This is not a candy.”

    DUH?!?!?

    Great post!

    Have a wonderful weekend…..X

If you had a really small dog. you could put all four feet in one sock.

Ro – Yes!! I have some that come inside jewellery packaging boxes, and they all say ‘do not eat!’. I mean, really? Do some people try that? It must taste foul! LOL!

Shooting Parrots – There. See? I KNEW someone would have the answer! ROFL!

Of course, you could indeed restrain a very small dog by putting all four feet inside one sock, but I think they probably wouldn’t stay restrained for very long!

I think they are cute little socks :)

Do you buy these packs three at a time? That way you get an extra set for Sid ;)

I don’t even. What? Was there enough of a concern about using these as restraint devices to warrant a warning? *Very* strange…

Funny and stupid, it’s like “well, we printed A instead of B, but hey, who will notice, lets save few $”

Babs – You jest, but I’ve now bought three packets of socks for Sid – some of them very expensive – and I’ve lost some of them because they are so small! One more packet, and I’ll have enough for a whole mix’n'match spare set! LOL!

At least the PawZ boots come in packs of twelve; three sets for a normal dog, four for Sid!

Dona – Sei molto gentile! Grazie!

Sì – sono interessante, no? Ma, sono molto utili per Sid, ed anche per i cani vecchi, chi non riescono a camminare bene per causa di artrite ecc.

Herman Turnip – It is, isn’t it? I think they must have been made by some remote foreign country where they don’t understand the nuances of English properly. No? Well, maybe they’re just damn lazy, then!

Jody – You can send it, if you like! LOL! Nice to see you pop in. :)

Jo – Exactly! Although I think they just use the same card for slipper socks and collars, perhaps. *Rolls eyes* – How sloppy can you get?

Love them – and you have a spare should one get lost in the wash! A x

What is really frightening is the fact that all of these strange warnings on packages are there as CYA – most likely because someone has filed legal action because they were daft and tried to do something silly with the product. Sometimes I have to wonder where people store their brains.

    That’s absolutly hilarious… The next thing they’ll invent is a lady-dog bra…
